"Start a little movement in your WOH-WOH-WOH!"
"The Hucklebuck" was a Big Band and Jump Jive standard from the 40's. Everybody had a variation of it in their repertoire. The reason was that 'hucklebuck' was a euphemism for something the latter part of it rhymed with. When couples trysted to it on the dancefloor, band leaders knew how to swing that...
The Phil Spector production of the classic Christmas song... Enjoy once more!
There are so many things to say about this wonderful singer. We'll start with a song by her group, The Blossoms, who were regulars on this show and also did a lot of back-up vocals on Phil Spector's productions.
Darlene Love & Joe Tex front this lively finish to a classic Shindig show.

Another Lost Gem By Darlene. What A Decade.Every Song Was Great In The 60's.The Horns Are Great On This Song And The High Standards Are There. This Song Has It.Thanks Darlene.
And wouldn't you believe, Darlene sang lead on this #1 hit from 1962. Darlene also sang lead with Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans. This clip is a bit tragic; The Crystals didn't sing on "He's a Rebel", and here they are - almost 3 years later - miming to Darlene's voice.
A funny thing is that most people probably know her more as an actor, playing Danny Glover's wife in the "Lethal Weapon" movies, and the mid 1980's she portrayed herself in the Tony Award-nominated jukebox musical "Leader of the Pack".
