I ran across this amazing dulcimer player at Pike Place Market in Seattle in 2004.
In this video I use Forstner bits and a bench drill to acurately make the recess for the inlay, please note you cannot do this if you dont have a bench drill( the bench drill is the main power tool for this instrument-I use it to do the rosette, thickness the sides, and install frets too)

Bing Futch performs "Rosin The Beau" on mountain dulcimer. [Video note: this was recorded and posted before I began the "Dulcimerica" series, one of four experimental videos to sort of test the waters. I learned this tune by listening to a recording from Stephen Seifert off of his album "Mountain Dulcimer."
Part eight of a series from the 2008 Suwannee Dulcimer Retreat at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, Florida. The finale wraps things up with Steve Eulberg on hammered dulcimer, David Beede on fretless gourd banjo and a home-again, home again.
I learned this song from Bing Futch, then I messed around with it for a bit till I was able to change one or to parts of the song. Special thanks to Bing futch, and Robert Force ( for making this song).
