The Canadians have lost a higher percentage of their troops killed in action in Afghanistan than any other country in the multinational force. Meanwhile, as Al Jazeera's David Chater reports, the Taliban are in full control again in many areas of Kandahar, where the group was born.

Pressure is mounting on International Forces because Taliban fighters are said to be regrouping ahead of a promised spring offensive. Mohammed Vall has this exclusive report from Afghanistan.

Al Jazeera has gained exclusive access to a secret network of Taliban bases hidden deep inside Afghanistan's Herat province. The bases are run by Ghullam Yahya Akbari, the former mayor of Herat. He says he and his men are fighting to oust foreign troops from Afghan soil. Al Jazeera's Dan Nolan reports from Kabul.
