The trem springs on some guitars ring so loud when playing that they're audible through the amp, and add all sorts of unsavory dissonant overtones to your notes. This is a good cure.

Flamenco guitar technique video lesson - 4 finger tremolo - Played with the thumb (P) followed by four fingers (mami). This is the flamenco tremolo I prefer. The more common pattern is Piami but I find Pmami much smoother and more controllable.
